Biography
For seven years, Melisa Young served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Food Service Specialist. During her time in service, she assisted in conducting critical search-and-rescue missions across the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean. This passion for protecting others seamlessly carried over into her post-military career.
After separating from service, Melisa began working as a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) specialist, helping veterans and recently transitioned service members secure and maintain gainful employment. She later served as a School Certifying Official, ensuring student veterans were able to maximize their education benefits to the fullest.
Prior to joining Cameron Firm, PC, Melisa spent four years as a County Veteran Service Officer. In this role, she assisted veterans and their dependents in navigating the complex system of state and federal benefits. Melisa is deeply passionate about breaking down systemic barriers for veterans, with a particular focus on advocate work surrounding mental health and military sexual trauma (MST).
